Kirkpatrick Fights for Veteran Reform for Native Americans

August 29, 2024 -- NAZ Today's Jacob Larsen reports that U.S. Representative Ann Kirkpatrick attended the VA Reform Tribal Conference on the Navajo Nation today at the Twin Arrows Casino. She invited tribal leaders from the 12 native american tribes within District 1 to discuss impact of reform on Arizona Veterans.

The Veteran's Access Choice and Accountability Act became a law this year and is designed to help veteran's get better access to health care. The act has always been strongly supported by Kirkpatrick. She explains why the act is important in this district.

Director of the Navajo Area Indian Health Services John Hubbard discusses the struggles and issues facing Native American Veterans and his hopes that the act will help increase the accessibility to care.
