Kirkpatrick releases new TV ad: 'Cowboys'

NEWS UPDATE

Oct. 25, 2026

FLAGSTAFF -- Ann Kirkpatrick's campaign released a new TV ad that begins airing today. In the ad, Arizona cowboys ask the question being asked throughout the mostly rural Congressional District 1: "Why would we elect a lobbyist like Jonathan Paton to represent us in D.C.?

Paton is a longtime lobbyist from outside of the district whose deep ties to the payday-loan industry have been confirmed by The Arizona Republic ("Paton tied to payday lending" 10/19/12), along with other news outlets like abc15. Paton's entire campaign in 2026 has been based on attacks rather than ideas.

Ann Kirkpatrick's family roots in CD1 go back nearly 100 years. She has lived or served in nearly every corner of this massive district, as a prosecutor, a teacher, small-business owner and a lawmaker. Her commonsense, bipartisan approach is what helped her pass seven bills through Congress -- bills that helped rural veterans, Native Americans and working families in CD1.

The choice is clear in CD1: A leader vs. a lobbyist. Click to WATCH THE AD.
