Greenlee County and Clifton officials endorse Kirkpatrick

FLAGSTAFF – Rural Arizona continued to rally behind the Kirkpatrick for Arizona campaign today as they announced endorsements from the mayor and every member of the Clifton Town Council as well as Greenlee County Sheriff Larry Avila.

“We’re very excited to earn these endorsements from rural Arizona. Ann has logged more than 20,000 miles traveling this state in the past year, making sure she visits towns such as Clifton to better understand what challenges they face,” said Kirkpatrick for Arizona Campaign Manager Nettie Silleck. “Her record reflects someone who cares about the needs of rural communities, and fights for jobs and action on other issues.”

Today’s announcement includes endorsements from Greenlee County Sheriff Larry Avila, Clifton Mayor Felix Callicotte, Clifton Vice Mayor Luis M. Montoya, Clifton Town Councilwoman Barbara Ahmann, Clifton Town Councilwoman Mary Arlene Beager, Clifton Town Councilwoman Armida Reyes Moir and Clifton Town Councilman Ray West. They join Greenlee County Supervisor David Gomez’s endorsement, which was announced last month.

Endorsements:

“Arizona Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick understands the way to meeting the challenges in Clifton and Greenlee County is by seeing them in person. She has traveled all over the largest congressional district in state and that has helped Ann see how vital mining and good administration within this region is to our present and future success. Ann has proven herself to be a true representative of Clifton and Greenlee County in every sense of the word and I proudly endorse her for reelection.” – Clifton Mayor Felix Calicotte

“Ann knows that representing our region cannot be done if you’re always in your office in Washington. That’s why she visits Clifton and our region — to see how the mines drive our economy, how our roads can be improved, how we want to continue creating jobs for the next generation. She is a tough, independent force in Congress and we still need her there.” – Clifton City Coucilwoman Mary Arlene Beager

“Ann has always been a fighter for rural Arizona and her recent time in Congress has shown that she’s not afraid to take on any battle to help her constituents. From vital actions like improving our roads to ensuring employment can continue to grow here, Ann has been a great partner for the district.” – Clifton City Councilwoman Barbara Ahmann

“Congresswoman Kirkpatrick continues to fight for Clifton and our dreams of building a better future with a strong infrastructure and a stable economy. She has been a dedicated partner for our community and she always finds time to visit our town to see how we are improving. It’s clear she is the best person to represent our district.” – Clifton City Councilman Armida Reyes Moir

“Ann has experience as a county prosecutor, so she knows how important public safety is to a community. Her work has made Greenlee County better for our families and I look forward to having her continue fighting for us in Washington.” – Greenlee County Sheriff Larry Avila
