Kirkpatrick Applauds Supreme Court Decision Upholding Second Amendment Rights

Prescott, AZ - Former State Representative Ann Kirkpatrick, candidate for the Democratic nomination to represent Arizona's 1st Congressional District, today issued the following statement applauding the Supreme Court's decision striking down the handgun ban in Washington, D.C.:

"I am very pleased that the Supreme Court reaffirmed the constitutional right of every law-abiding American to keep and bear arms," said Representative Kirkpatrick. "The Bill of Rights guarantees all Americans the right to defend themselves and their families. I look forward to continuing my work to protect the integrity of the Second Amendment in Congress."

Kirkpatrick has long been a strong advocate for Second Amendment rights. Her record as a prosecutor won her the endorsements of law enforcement personnel across the district, including the Coconino and Navajo County Attorneys, Coconino County Sheriff Bill Pribil, and Winslow Police Chief Steve Garnett.
