Ann Kirkpatrick Releases TV Ad Highlighting Strong Law Enforcement Support

Prescott, AZ - Former State Representative Ann Kirkpatrick, Democratic frontrunner in the race to represent Arizona's 1st Congressional District, today announced that her latest television ad in the campaign, titled "Mountain," will begin airing throughout the district today, Tuesday, August 12.

The spot features Coconino County Sheriff Bill Pribil describing why he supports former prosecutor and state legislator Ann Kirkpatrick in her bid for Congress.

Pribil says, "You are not born at the foot of the White Mountains into an easy life. It gave Ann Kirkpatrick a toughness and a will to make a difference."

Pribil goes on to highlight Kirkpatrick's accomplishments as a former prosecutor, locking up violent criminals and looking out for victims. He applauds her tough stance on methamphetamines in the state legislature, referring to a bill she sponsored to keep the ingredients for meth out of the hands of drug dealers.

"Ann Kirkpatrick has guts," Pribil concludes. "She's got the experience we need and she's got my vote."

Kirkpatrick's campaign has broad support from Arizona's law enforcement community. She has previously received the endorsement of the Arizona Police Association, Navajo County Sheriff Gary Butler, Winslow Police Chief Steve Garnett, Coconino County Attorney Terence Hance, and Navajo County Attorney Mel Bowers.

The release of this television spot is the latest sign that momentum favors Kirkpatrick in one of the nation's most competitive races this election cycle. She just finished the first leg of her month long District-Wide Tour for Change, where she travelled through Pinal, Greenlee, Graham, and Gila counties, visiting 19 towns in just five days. Her campaign was recently endorsed by the state's largest newspaper, the Arizona Republic, and the Cook Political Report, upgraded the race from "Toss-Up" to "Lean Democrat" just last week, citing Kirkpatrick's strong campaign as the reason.

Kirkpatrick touts an impressive list of endorsements, including Governor Janet Napolitano, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Tucson), Rep. Harry Mitchell (D-Tempe), former Navajo Nation President Dr. Peterson Zah, State Rep. Jack Brown, State Rep. Barbara McGuire, and Arizona's teachers and firefighters, as well as local leaders like Prescott Mayor Jack Wilson.
