Ann Kirkpatrick Kicks Off Next Phase of Campaign at Casa Grande Headquarters Grand Opening

Casa Grande, AZ - Former State Representative Ann Kirkpatrick, Democratic frontrunner in the race to represent Arizona's First Congressional District, today kicked off the next phase of her campaign at the grand opening of her campaign headquarters in Casa Grande.

Today's event coincided with the campaign's district-wide Day of Action. Drawing on the strength of Kirkpatrick's broad grassroots network, hundreds of volunteers in communities across the district, including Casa Grande, Chino Valley, Cottonwood, Flagstaff, Prescott, Prescott Valley, Show Low, and Winslow made thousands of phone calls and knocked on thousands of doors.

"I am thrilled with the broad, bipartisan support our campaign to change Washington has generated throughout Pinal County and across the district," said Kirkpatrick. "With families struggling to cope with skyrocketing gas and grocery prices, soaring health care costs, and the real prospect of losing their homes, Arizonans deserve an advocate in Washington that will stand up for them. I am committed to changing Congress from an institution that works only to serve itself to one that will serve the people of Arizona."

At today's event, supporters from across the district crowded the office to listen to Kirkpatrick discuss her plan to change Washington and to express their support.

"I was proud to have served in the state legislature with Ann, who like me has always been a strong advocate for the constitutional right to keep and bear arms," said Barb McGuire, State Representative and National Rifle Association member. "We need more people with her commitment to service and to protecting our basic freedoms in Congress."

"I look forward to Ann continuing to build bridges between the state and federal government in the district," McGuire concluded.

"I support Ann Kirkpatrick because she understands the immense opportunity we have in Pinal County to create hundreds of good-paying jobs," said Pinal County Supervisor David Snider. "In Congress, she will be a strong advocate for investments in renewable energy which will not only reduce our dependence on foreign oil but will grow our economy."

Ann was also joined by Superior Court 8 Judge Brenda Oldham, Pinal County Democratic Party Chairman Joe Robison, Pinal County Democratic Party First Vice Chairwoman Carolyn Gordon, Arizona Education Association southern regional representative Paula Maniszko, San Manuel Constable Henry Velasquez, and Business and Professional Women Member Linda Martinez.

Former State Representative Ann Kirkpatrick is a former legislator, county prosecutor, small business owner, mother, and a community leader who served as President of the Northern Arizona United Way. Born in McNary, Kirkpatrick is a native of rural Arizona and has lived and worked in the First Congressional District.
